Takeover of Mentor Graphics completed by Siemens
Siemens has completed the acquisition of Mentor Graphics Corporation (Mentor). Mentor is now, with its almost 6,000 employees, part of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Software division.
The merger reveals the world's largest supplier of industrial software for product design, simulation, testing, and manufacturing.
Siemens has invested around ten billion dollars in numerous software companies since 2007 and has thus made an important advance into the software sector. UGS, LMS, Camstar, Polarion and CD-adapco are among the names Siemens has taken. For the acquisition of Mentor, approximately 4.5 billion US $ was invested.
