PLM becomes more mobile

How well is mobile computing blazing a trail for itself in Engineering? A nice example of how is delivered by the company trisoft GmbH in the Austrian city of Graz. trisoft is a PROCAD partner, successfully selling the PRO.FILE PDM/PLM software for which it has developed a mobile solution.

ProSTEP iViP sets up Smart Systems Engineering project

On January 4, the ProSTEP iViP Association announced that a decision in favor of a new project was taken in mid-December. The project is to start at the beginning of this year and will run for two years under the name of Smart Systems Engineering.

Product Life live (PLL) event ends

The sixth Product Life live (PLL) was held at the end of September in Stuttgart. As now announced by the event organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt on its own homepage, this will be the last time: “Given the considerably changed market situation, we have decided to no longer organize the “Product Life live” event and to remove it from our program.”  It could, however, continue without Mesago.

Autodesk 360 for PLM

On November 29, 2011, Autodesk announced a new PLM solution at the Autodesk University in Las Vegas. Under the name 'Autodesk 360 for PLM' this offering relies on cloud technology and, according to the company, is aimed at “both small companies wanting to introduce PLM for the first time and large ones who have become jaded by the complexity and high costs of traditional PLM solutions”. It should be available in the first quarter of 2012 and consists of three components, namely: Autodesk 360 Nexus
